These Happy Golden Years
by Laura Ingalls Wilder
This is a re-read and I rated it three stars the first time I read it but it's definitely a four star book.
The part when Laura moves away the first time was so lonely and sad that I think that tainted my judgement of the overall book.
In this book Laura is 15 and while still at home she does leave a few times to teach school in other towns. When not teaching she also has other jobs and of course she gets engaged and eventually marries Almonzo.
It's a really really good book. I think it took her quite a while to turn into a good writer but she's hit her stride in the book.
One more book to go in my Little House re-read of 2014.
