As much I loved the first book in the series, Tomi ended the book with more questions than answers. I loved the book for its black, magical world and believing that the characters would find something out of suffering - but up until the last page, it was nothing but suffering.  It felt endless and the story wrapped up in an uneven, unsatisfying way.
