Floored by Karla Sorensen

(ARC Review) Welp, Karla did it again! This was a beautifully written, emotional, steamy, funny, surprise pregnancy story. I love the Ward family and this did not disappoint. I think it might be my favorite of this spin off series!

The surprise pregnancy trope can be iffy for me, but this one is so good! It's not insta-love, everything is perfect because we're having a baby. Instead, they have very real problems to work on before they can begin to contemplate their HEA.

They actually handle their problems fairly maturely, even if it takes some time. The chemistry between the two is electric and I loved that how much they cared about each other. They provided a sense of home for each other when they were both feeling a bit unmoored.

I loved that Lia, who has previously been characterized as the wild child, was actually quite a serious academic but never let her pregnancy de-rail her. Jude is a famous footballer who is a bit damaged due to an unhealthy childhood home, but he still tries to be there to support Lia in any way he can and is determined to give his child a better life than he had.

Their journey isn't a conventional or perfect one, but that's what makes the payoff all the sweeter.
