I absolutely loved the art style of this book. The color palette and the delicate lines created such a strong mood. If you’re a person who has ever watched someone be in a relationship with a manipulative/toxic person, this is a tough and stressful read. I think it’s important to show those kinds of relationships as a warning, but I also wish that the decision to break up with Laura Dean came from within Freddy instead of from an adult woman on the internet. The ending tied up a bit too nicely for me, but I did feel strongly for Freddy and was relieved that she was out of that situation.
Graphic: Abandonment, Emotional abuse, and Toxic relationship
Moderate: Alcohol, Cursing, Abortion, and Pregnancy
Minor: Adult/minor relationship, Homophobia, and Lesbophobia
