πͺ Finally through with βThe Night Circusβ by Erin Morgenstern, and Iβm brimming with thoughts and emotions!!
πͺ Iβll be posting the usual detailed review on this book soonβ¦ but I wanted to do something different first by answering a few of the Discussion Questions on this book put out by my book club.
1οΈβ£ Fav Character:
I loved the dynamic between Celia and Marco but my favourite character has to be Bailey π€!! His passion and obsession towards the circus and his enthusiastic outlook on the life within the circus was incredible.
2οΈβ£ Role of Time:
βThe most difficult thing to read is time.β The realistic uncertainty and uncontrollability of time was quite significant. The ageing of some of the characters was one of the main concerns in this book.
3οΈβ£ The Writing:
The prose of this book is non-linear which mirrors the uncertainty of βThe Circus of Dreamsβ that appears without warning and leaves without notice. Once I was a few chapters in, the magic of the book took hold. The narrative isnβt plot-fuelled or fast-paced, rather it flows like a stream, smoothly and naturally.
4οΈβ£ The Competition:
The execution of the competition was so unique and I loved seeing how Celia and Marco kept anticipating and reacting to each otherβs actions.
5οΈβ£ The Love Story:
Love is presented as a force powerful enough to overcome any obstacle. Celia and Marcoβs love is a rebellion against the isolation imposed by their guardians, allowing them to collaborate and enhance the power of their magic.
