What the Wind Knows
by Amy Harmon
Took me a while to get into this book. Not because it wasn't a good read, but simply because it starts slow as the author sets up the stage for the story she's about to unfurl. And by heavens, it is something else. The overall feel of this book is melodious and perhaps even ethereal. The story is heartbreaking in parts due to the strife and conflict happening in Ireland, but she gives moments of happiness and contentment to her characters. I admire her ability to weave history into her stories, as well as using her own personal family history. She delivers a heartfelt story but isn’t afraid to skip the hardships people endured during that era of Irish history. By the end, I was totally captivated, and I loved how things played out.
Content
Some mild swearing throughout, violence though not overly descriptive, kissing scenes plus some more intimate moments that, as one reviewer said, are mostly glossed over. That said, I wasn't expecting those moments, and I wish the author left them out or glossed over them even more.
