There's a lot to digest here. Great complex themes of self, identity, family and more. Remind me of another of my favorite authors, Johnathon Franzen. A sprawling and lengthy work that never felt over worked or over long for one second. I didn't want it to end, I wanted to stay immersed in the stories of Samuel and his mother forever. Periwinkle was truly odious and I had no idea who he would turn out to have been or his earlier link to the story, that was a surprise. Officer Brown and his obsession was so perfectly and eerily creepily described. Unhinged! Loved every word. Can't wait to read more Nathan Hill.
