The Supreme Lie by Geraldine McCaughrean
3.0
‘Beloved daughter and friend always’
‘If, say, twelve people are miserable,it stands to reason there’s less ‘miserable’ to go around. But if you try to carry it all yourself, you get squashed down flat. You have to share it,you really do’
What made me fall so deeply in love with this book was Gloria and Timor’s relationship development throughout. This was phenomenally written and those two characters share a piece of my heart, they are my absolute favourite character duo out of each and every book I have read. This was hilarious at even the most serious moments. I loved it.
What made me give three stars was the fact that the story only got exciting - for me; after atleast 1/4 of the way in. I will however say: reading the less exciting parts was absolutely worth it to get to the plot of the story.
