Girl Online by Zoe Sugg

Firstly, I don't hate Zoe, she seems like a good person and she brings happiness to countless people, this review is in no way opinionated based on me disliking her. (If that was the case, I wouldn't have read it)

This book already started with the "I am the awkward internet girl" kind of thing which is why I had to stop reading for a while and thought about not finishing it at all.

Just things like "I am the International Embarassment cursed by the God of Awkward Moments" or when she tripped on stage and embarrassed herself. Also, she was the misunderstood, insecure teenage girl with a blog and a gay best friend and oh my god she fell out with her friend. It was just very unoriginal.

However, I gave it a second chance because after all this book is for younger readers, but then it turned into a predictable cliché love story with a very cliché rocker guy and it seemed more like a fan fiction to me (idk maybe that's just me).
Take everything a fifteen/sixteen-year-old girl dreams about and put it into a book, it's kind of like that.

I actually had my hopes up when she broke contact with him and started to try living her life normally again and in my opinion it shouldn't have ended them making up, it might've made the story a bit more interesting in the end. That might sound a bit negative but he didn't even have to fight her back, it ended so quickly and so predictable.

I get that it is her first book (although she had a lot of help) and probably more directed towards young, teenage girls. I still wanted to give it a try but it just wasn't for me.
