The Summer Deal by Jill Shalvis

4.0

This is book #5 in the Wildstone series, but can definitely be read as a stand alone. It's about two half-sisters, Brynn and Kinsey, who have been frenemies since they were younger at camp who end up as roommates. Kinsey found out they were half sisters when she was a teenager, but Brynn still doesn't know. Coming home after a bad breakup, Brynn heads to her two moms house, but soon is suffocated by them. She happens upon Eli, who has a room to rent--a boy she kissed once as a teenager as part of a summer deal.
I loved the dynamics of all the roommates--Eli, Max, Kinsey and Brynn. Their banter was fun at snarky. There are two love relationships included--Kinsey and Deck and Eli and Brynn. Both were sweet, though I did feel like Eli and Brynn's was too fast to be believable as love. Whatever. I can get over that. It was a light romance with more issues thrown in about family and how we all can create are own family.
Kinsey has a major medical issue, but is afraid of letting anyone get too close to her as she has an expiration date. Brynn's messed up due to her ex-boyfriend destroying her self-esteem and confidence. It was great to see these two sisters come together in the end and everyone get their happy ending.
