Souls and Sorrows

Well damn. I did not expect Ariana’s story to be so traumatic. Yes we’re in a mafia world, it should be expected that bad things are bound to happen. I was not prepared for this book. I really had to wrap my head around it through all the spice and tension between Ariana and Cash. Because, surely not. My brain coming to a conclusion I was not anticipating. How come I didn’t see it in the first book?! It takes mommy issues to a whole other level. I hated the mum in the first book, but I outright despise her in this one. The ending was anticlimactic - I wanted to seek out revenge for Ariana and Kal. I liked seeing Kal in this one tho, glad he got to get a little justice for himself too. And seeing how he is with his kids. So cute.
Cash. He really was something else. It’s all the public displays of affection in this book - a little cringy but so damn spicy. And the degradation. Going from not knowing how to touch her to straight degradation. Lord. If this book wasn’t so traumatic I’d give it more stars just for Cash. I just can’t get over Carmen and what she did.
