I absolutely loved being back with Michael & Elsie again. The narrators, Teddy Hamilton & Callie Dalton, did a fantastic job in bringing these two characters to life. The story is great, audiobook is amazing and the paperback is beautiful. I had an amazing time re-reading this and I can't wait to listen to the next books that are coming on audio.
Michael just gets to me every time. He was such a great dad to Sophie that it just made me fall in love with him all over again, much like Elsie does, little by little. This story starts dark but it ends on a happy, hopeful note and I loved it.
Michael & Elsie found each other in their time of need and their love will surpass everything that comes their way. Elsie is a strong woman due to what happened to her and because of it, she is the perfect woman/wife for Michael, the Boss of the Messina Crime Family.
Again the audio was beautifully done and I can't wait for more to come!

* Thank you to the author for giving me an arc of this book.*

This one might be a 6 star read. It didn't quite met my parameters for it but i feel like it deserves it.

I loved Elsie and Michael. The things Elsie went through was horrific and i admired the way she somehow managed to stay strong all that time.
I loved Michael so much. He did seemed like a douche at the beginning just because i didn't know anything about him yet and he didn't do anything to save the girls but he had reasons, very good ones and besides this he was a gem. He was ruthless but also so soft with Elsie and Sophia.
I loved that in his one way, he helped Elsie feel like herself again and be the source of life for her which is turn made him feel alive too.
I loved Sophia, Michael's daughter, and her relationship with her daddy and how he saved her when she was a baby. They were so precious together! I always love when kids are well done in books.
I loved Elsie's journey and her growth. She was so strong and resilient by the end of this book.
I loved how she took matters into her own hands when it was needed and didn't shied away from the mafia life and what all of it entailed.
She became a queen worthy of Michael's kingdom and i just loved them together.
Sexy times were great. Michael has a mouth on him and says the swooniest things.

I lived for the moment Elsie met her parents again and it was amazing seeing Sophia also getting along with her parents.

The twist got my jaw on the floor. I knew the dad was being suspicious just because he wanted his own son dead at all cost and that just rubbed me the wrong way. To say i was surprised is putting it mildly. I was disgusted by him and what he did and what he continued to do even when he was in chains.
I don't know what to make of people who was supposed to be dead but i'm interested to see what's coming next. I want Raph to be happy more than ever now! The man is being crushed by life and that won't do. I'm also looking forward to Gio's story and how that all will play out.

This was also my first book by Lilian and i wasn't disappointed. I will definitely go back and read the Cavarelli's books.
