Idk what to say other than this was horrible in comparison to the first one.

I mean, they’re what? 14 - 15 years old and yet you’ve got these boys talking about murdering girls the same age, bc of what? Her choosing not to be with him? Them deciding they no longer need men to have a happy life? If that’s not misogyny at it’s finest and pair that with the sexism, it’s a whole mess.

Like I personally see nothing wrong with the girls basically saying ‘f you’ to the patriarchy but the author should’ve gone round it in a different way, maybe it’s because it’s written by a man that it came off wrong and made them seem shallow 🤷🏽‍♀️

And are we just gonna ignore the subtle homophobia and transphobia ? I get it came out years ago but c’mon now

Honestly, cannot stand Tedros like idk if I’ve hated a child more than I dislike him. And his “relationship” with Agatha is just so forced I don’t know if they’re even gonna last.  (I still read her as a lesbian but maybe that’s just cos I am one but hey ho)

Also how old is the school master supposed to be? Like yeah, I get he’s physically the same age and the rest of them but like, isn’t he hundreds of years old? Why is he getting paired with sophie…

Overall, I didn’t like the whole theme of “a girl can only choose one: her best friend or her true love” like girl you’re 12 what one true love !? 😭  (yes, it’s a fairy tale, and yes it’s a ya series but still) anyways that’s not a good message to be sending to kids

Anyways, I will be continuing the series, even if I hate everything about it.
