The Queen by Skye Warren

5.0

I have always enjoyed Skye Warren's books, her writing style is one of the things that I absolutely love about them. Her works are never boring and would reel you in from start to finish.

But that aside, this is my favorite book of hers to date. I loved Penny and Damon. I loved how their relationship dynamics evolved, how it has surfaced from the very beginning when they first met and flourished in the end.

Penny is quite likeable. She fought for what she wanted, she made the king kneel and kiss her feet (literally), she owned him as much as he owned her. If not more.

Damon was so enigmatic, punishing himself by withholding, by his seeming nonchalance, by his abstinence. I admired that about him, but it also frustrated me. Yet that potent mixture made me love him.

I'm adding this one to my favorites!
