on paper, this book seemed like it would be right up my alley. unfortunately, the execution was just very poor. the writing was all over the place. there was absolutely no plot, which sometimes i don’t mind, but in this case i didn’t connect with any of the characters so i really wasn’t interested in the spice. all of the religious crap was so annoying and i literally starting skipping everything declan said
