Heir of Storms
by Lauryn Hamilton Murray
Sometimes a book is the same as all other fantasy books but also somehow just better, and that was this book!
There was nothing particularly revolutionary, but I really loved the characters and how they’re built out over the course of the book. There were a couple little twists that weren’t completely obvious to go with the one big one that I saw coming a mile away.
The trials, something that seems to be coming up in every fantasy book lately, were straightforward and clever without being too over the top.
The magic system is really interesting and felt unique, despite being based on elemental magic.
I have no other explanation for this other than I liked it and devoured it in a day!
