When I first started I thought it was a YA story about teens because of how juvenile the characters were as well as the writing style. It was a real shock when I was thrown into an explicit smut scene initially (i enjoy the occasional erotica but i like knowing that before i get into the book).
The plot twist was quite predictable and the whole pacing of the thriller aspect was just off. The love story was also insta love which didn't help the pacing either.
By the end I did start skimming through chapters just to get through it because I just couldn't become attached to the characters. They felt very 2 dimensional and bland so once the mystery was solved there wasn't anything keeping me in.
