Do not let yourself be put off by the shift from the first book’s writing style. Allow Muir to shatter whatever expectations you have for this novel, flexing her god-tier mastery of just about every aspect of the novel.
The experimental style elevates the experience and a level of depth to the mystery of it all, though it took a bit to get used to. As soon as I figured out what Muir was going for, I was 100% on board. It will not disappoint.
And as the case with book 1, the humor was bitingly clever, and the casually dropped Tumblr-isms had me rolling. What a privilege to behold. Truly magnificent.
