Harrow County, Volume 1: Countless Haints by Cullen Bunn

4.0

I found out about this book through Northern Plunder (a great blogger) and decided it was time to read it. This book tells us about a girl who is the reincarnation/the reborn witch that was burned 18 years ago. We see that she unknowingly has powers, and from there things just get twisty and turny. One night she has to flee. It got really exciting and OMG what is going to happen. I quite liked the story. The ending to this first volume was pretty good, I am quite curious about that lady that we see at the end. Plus, what kind of powers does Emmy have more? We see a few of them, but I wonder what else she can do. I did find it WTF that she took that thing with her. NOPE.
I especially loved the short stories by the author and the very short stories about Harrow Country. Those I think I looked forward to the most. Don't get me wrong, Emmy's life is interesting, but the other things were just more what I liked.
The art was pretty OK.
I will definitely try another volume of this one. Not sure when though. For now I got some other books to read. :)
