Amazonia by James Rollins
5.0
Non-stop action & adventure. I loved seeing under-represented Native tribes like the Yanamamo in the Amazon shown here and it seems like James Rollins did his research. Of course since it's fiction there were some liberties taken! I really felt like I was in the rainforest (especially when I was sitting on my porch in the southern summer heat & humidity), and the characters were well developed. I remained engaged and entertained, and while some of it was predictable there was a bit of a twist I was not expecting.
I had to roll my eyes at how horny some of the characters were throughout given the extreme circumstances they were in- saw a dude get eaten by a giant crocodile? Horny. Witnesses a bajillion people die gruesome deaths? Horny. Saw a dude get his legs bitten off by a jaguar? Horny. Under extreme stress and terrified for your life? Still horny. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
