Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
5.0
what a lovely depiction of boys becoming men. queer men at that! Ari and Dante’s coming of age story was beautiful and an authentic look at what being Latino but not feeling Latino enough while also trying to figure out who they are, what they really want, and what they are willing to do for each other. Dante is such a lovable character how could anyone not fall into a desperate love for him. also i feel like he’s definitely on the spectrum at least a little bit. like come on there is no way that he’s just That quirky. he definitely doesn’t know what constitutes as normal conversation in a social setting. or maybe that’s just because he’s been an only child for so long. Ari is such a loyal pit bull of a boy. Strong, sturdy, and sometimes a little mean. He’s got such a big heart despite all of that.
