Obviously this was a highly anticipated read for me this year- the Outlander series is my favorite series and I love it so much!
Bees was excellent. I’ve seen some not stellar reviews of it and to each their own, obviously, but I liked how this was a bit more of a character study of (mostly) everyone we know and love. I felt like DG did a better job of breaking up the length of other characters’ chapters and scenes than in previous novels…(Some of William’s scenes drag on a bit before but not in Bees) so we got back to Claire and Jamie and their lives together.
There were some things I didn’t love (not sure how many times I read the word “forsooth” but it felt excessive, and there were some editing misses that should have been dealt with, among other things) but overall it was great and I already can’t wait for book 10!
Edited to add; did I read it a second time the month after it came out? Yep, sure did.
