At first I enjoyed this but every time I thought of this story, it felt less good. The language and phrasing is annoying, juvenile, and repetitive trope vomit. The way the feelings from the mmc are described, sorry I don't believe any boy would ever think in tumblr script. It also didn't need to be that long and nothing felt surprising. The whole book felt like a run on sentence with too much emotion. I was constantly yanked from the world because the writing was not immersive. It felt like try hard tumblr fanfiction.
What I think this book sounds like : "My heart shatters in my chest. The very same heart broken by my father. The heart that bleeds when our eyes meet. The soul that belongs in her scarred hands even though I don't want it too." and this phrasing happens often. 

I won't say it's the worst but the second book feels the same as well.
