Venture of the Infinite Man by Pablo Neruda, Jessica Powell, Mark Eisner

Neruda wrote this epic poem in order to experiment with his own stream of consciousness. Therefore, it’s quite different than his usual style. Although I’m not a fan of stream-of-consciousness writing, I did find joy and appreciation for his writing. His imagery was strong. Although I felt like he relied too heavily on metaphors, the metaphors were effective.

My favorite line was, “You are full of birds sleeping like the silence of the forests.”
