The Journey That Saved Curious George: The True Wartime Escape of Margret and H.A. Rey by Louise Borden

adventurous funny informative lighthearted reflective fast-paced

5.0

I loved reading this book! The illustrations and the story do a great job of explaining the good and the bad of what The Rey’s experienced during a challenging time that will always be remembered in history without it being too scary for kids to read.
I have always loved Curious George and was curious to know more about the backstory. I didn’t realize everything that The Rey’s had to deal with in order to survive and escape. I  am happy that they are one of the lucky ones that survived to share excellent children’s books with the world! It makes me sad and curious though to think about what could have been shared if they had not been tragically killed by truly evil people.
I also enjoyed reading and seeing  the pictures of places I have visited myself In Paris. I kind of wish they hadn’t changed the monkey’s name from Fifi to George but I love the name George as well.
