I seriously regret reading this. The only reason I did was out of curiosity. Well damn. I absolutely loathed this book. I can't believe how much literature has changed.
This book needed major editing. It was cliche, predictable, frivolous and mediocre. Oh gosh I'm sorry. But it's the truth. The author is about my age and her writing style is obviously tweenie bopper-ish. The characters were supposed to be in college but I mistook them for 14 year olds because they were so immature.
The only time I enjoyed reading this was when I found errors --- and there were a lot. So I don't really understand why a lot of people think this is one of the greatest books ever. It was okay. It was entertaining. But it didn't really help me learn something. It left no lasting mark. It didn't keep me up all night in silent contemplation.
She's probably going to end up beautiful and married to the asshole, Cross. It's so unrealistic. Why can't she just stay ugly and reach self-realization of how shallow physical beauty is if one's personality is lacking?
In the words of Matt from 13 Going On 30 "Narrow man. Narrow hopeless people". Ugh.
I am seriously contemplating the death of my tablet just for this.
