Darker Space by Lisa Henry

God, when will my alien come and take me!

Scrolling through the comments, I'm glad to find that I'm not the only one who wants to see more of Kai-Ren. I can't put it into words, but Kai-Ren felt honorable in his own twisted and wrecked way.

Brady, oh Brady! This immature, anger-filled, and self-deprecating character! He was so not the typical I-can-do-this confident MC. Seeing the story unfold through his fear-stricken eyes was so good. [a:Lisa Henry|5050492|Lisa Henry|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1635074774p2/5050492.jpg] has a way with words—absolutely captivating!

Cam, the ever-patient lover, the anchor that Brady so desperately needed even after their connection was severed. Nothing Brady showed Cam could deter Cam from seeing the real him under all that shit Brady buried himself under.
Cam might have been the perfect emissary for humanity, but I was humanity. I was the wretched bits, the reckless bits, and all the bits with jagged edges that didn’t fit. I was rough and unfinished, cracked and broken, all made up of splintered pieces and sharp corners, but it was those ragged parts of me that had snagged Kai-Ren’s attention.
And you can't believe how true that was. Brady could easily be a character who embodies humanity's fear and uncertainty.

“You’re a better person than I deserve,” I told him. “I’m trying to be better, but I guess I’m a work in progress. So, you know, thanks for putting up with me in the meantime.”

I'm so ready to devour the third book! give it here babe!
