The Black Swan of Paris: A WWII Novel
by Karen Robards
A love story: love of country, love of child, love of parent, love of sibling, love of romantic partner. All this love creates an improbably romanticized version of clandestine activities in WWII. Somewhat dragging in the first third, it eventually picks up once we get past the if-we-told-one-another-the-truth-everything-would-work-out part of the romance. If you need to escape from reality but still enjoy some suspense and passion, this is the book for you.
