Holy fuck can Sabaa Tahir write a book. “Flooring it” is an apt description of the pacing. And boy howdy can she write a cliffhanger why does everyone feel the intense need to sacrifice themselves? Seriously though, I’m serious
And seriously, why do you have to make a villain that I hate, arguably, but one with such deeply entrenched motivation that you *get it*. Cruel. Cruel and unusual punishment.
Cliffhanger hit me like a right hook. A Reaper at the Gates was worse, if I’m remembering correctly. Two fucking nickels
Man, oh man, can she craft a story. Only read this if you are mentally stable and have a desire not to be. The sequel is not a want, but a need.
I only hope that I could ever write something that could even remotely compare to the gut wrenching heart throbbing total immersion into the story that this book gives. 5 stars isn’t enough, now I’m going to go cry.
