I was absolutely blown away by the first book in this trilogy. It was phenomenal and unputdownable. Violent Ends, however, did not have that same effect on me.
Jessica Hawkins' writing is superb, don’t get me wrong, but this book just didn’t excite me the way Violent Delights did. It just seemed like a book of just filler. Nothing major happened that really drove the plot. I wanted to bitchslap the heroine, I absolutely hated her in this book. And then, WHAM! Cliffhanger.
I hope the third book is as good as the first, but book two was so mediocre. Here’s to hoping the heroine redeeems herself next time around, because I want to be able to cheer her on, and not want to slap her into next week.
