An Anthropologist on Mars
by Oliver Sacks
done! finished my 20th book of the year just under the wire. i'd resolved to read one non-fiction book this year but this one ended up being my third. for a collection of essays on people with neurological disorders it was very readable and not as dry as it could have been. some people's stories are more fascinating than others (the colorblind artist, for instance) and some just seem to get a bit repetitive (like 'the last hippie'), with no real new information beyond the initial description. for those who are more science-minded there are lots of explanations and detailed footnotes. for those who are not (me for sure) it was an interesting read but quite enough to make it a page-turner.
