I have been wanting to read this book for a long time. My students kept recommending this book to me over and over. I finally could get it from the library after being on a wait list for over a month!
This book did not disappoint me. Ransom Riggs is a great author. He had a great story and plot line for the readers! I also enjoyed seeing the story from a male perspective! It is very rare to 1)have it from a male perspective or 2)be a good male perspective.

Jacob has always been close to his grandpa. His grandpa shared stories of children that had powers.. Jacob believed the stories until one day he believed that they weren't true anymore. One night, Jacob went out to look for his grandpa. He finally found his grandpa wounded. His grandpa gave him some last words in a form of a riddle. Jacob was confused and what confused him more was seeing a beast around his grandpa. Jacob had nightmares over and over again. He finally was sent to a psychiatrist to deal with his emotions. Jacob came across the old photos one day and decided that he wanted to go to the island that his grandpa came from. His parents didn't think it was a good idea, but his psychiatrist had the final say. Jacob and his dad went to the island. What does Jacob find at the island?
