Yi Sang: Selected Works by Yi Sang
4.5
Yi Sang is such an interesting poet. While I wasn't convinced by The Wings, this better look at his work really makes you appreciate him both as a writer, as well as contextualize his dadaist writing with the Japanese occupation of Korea, and the circumstances behind both the way he writes and the illness that ended up taking his life.
The division between his more experimental work, such as Crow's Eye View, and his essays and stories really aid in understanding him as a person, and the work that the translators did here is phenomenal as well, further cementing his work, making it available for anyone.
