Under One Roof by Ali Hazelwood

5.0

I have been a huge Ali Hazelwood fan since the very beginning and this novella is a continuation of Ali's genius writing. I'm not usually a fan of novella since I feel like they often don't fit good character arcs and complete plots in the short span of the story, but this is an exception.

It's cute, it's fun, and it's got a little bit of spice to make for the perfect package. The witty banter I expected was there and it made for such a delightful read. Waiting for this novella to release as an ebook was excruciating since I am unable to listen to audiobooks, but it's always worth the wait for anything Ali writes. The writing was top-notch and the plot was as solid as always.

I really love that Liam is demisexual and that Ali includes a lot of ace-spec representation in her characters. Ace-specs like myself are so often overlooked and her portrayal has been spot on thus far and makes me feel so seen. As for Mara, I love that we once again get a brilliant woman in STEM that perfectly encompasses the experience and challenges of being such. It's so inspiring to see a slightly-awkward and brilliant woman overcome everyday challenges to succeed and give the patriarchy hell.

In case you can't tell, I am absolutely obsessed with Ali's work and will continue to be so as she creates contemporary romance gems like this. Now to wait impatiently for the next Ali Hazelwood masterpiece!
