On the House: A Washington Memoir
by John Boehner
I wasn’t sure if I would like this one, but it was a surprisingly candid and enjoyable read. I didn’t always agree with Boehner while he was in office, but after reading this I have a better appreciation for his attempts at bi-partisanship and keeping the “fringe” at bay.
I listened to the Audiobook, which he narrates himself. While he is not a professional narrator, I’m glad he narrated it… I felt like I was just having a beer with a guy telling me about his wild times in Congress…. Which included all the fights he had with the “crazies” in the Tea Party, and that time a fellow congressmen put a knife to his neck.
Worth a read if you enjoy politics and palace intrigue, regardless of your party affiliation.
