White Ivy by Susie Yang

It really sped up towards the end but it took a long time to get to know Ivy. I found myself feeling like shaking some sense into her for pretty much the entire book. I know a lot of time was spent on her upbringing and her culture but I wasn’t entirely clear on why there was so much focus on that piece. It seems to me that every teenager goes through embarrassment of their parents, struggles with finding themselves, etc. I didn’t see how that was necessarily unique to her other than feeling outcast for her nationality. Anyway, it was a good book, entertaining read.
