Well… she did it again… I hated HATED Viola for 3/4 of the book and Jack for about 1/2. She has such a way of making me hate her characters but loving the plot. Jack’s arc was more of a personal growth journey and felt good to see happen. Viola… geeze… this girl was a handful! Idk how Jack could see past it. He’s a better person than I for sure! But it does have a lovely ending that makes you smile so I’ll give it a 4star rating. I really hated how glossed over and rushed the ConQuest scene in the beginning was though. It felt like the editor said “oh can you make it relatable for non-nerd types?” So how the game is played comes off a a bit of an ick. Which doesn’t jive with who Viola is at all. The football and mmorpg stuff did get some good glory though. Ultimately I did enjoy this little rom com.
