Okay, at 176 pages this is only just into the novella category so maybe I shouldn’t be classing it as a whole book 😅 but it’s BRILLIANT and I wanna review it so 🤷🏻♀️ Sanderson is known for his epic, sweeping, looooong novels but he manages to create just as fantastic a story in far less. The main character, Shai, is just so cool! She’s so clever, determined, resilient and the way her magic ties in with knowing the intricacies of people… I just loved it.
The story was beautifully written, as per for Sanderson, with cleverly layered twists and a satisfying ending. This was easy escapism at its finest.
