The Fall of a God
by Holly Renee
Ahhh, back to Clermont Bay we go!
We pick up right where we left off from book one, a week after the fall out from Beck’s idiotic revenge plan. Josie is of course hurt, which she should be. Beck is an idiot! As soon as he figured out his feelings for Josie were real, he should have ended his revenge plan. Plus it was so obvious that 1) Josie had no idea what had happened in the past, and 2) she didn’t like her father at all.
I had mixed feelings with the end of the first book The Touch of a Villain, because I couldn’t figure out where Josie would forgive Beck, since he knowingly did what he did. Although he wasn’t responsible for the comprising video being leaked online, he still recorded it, and I just don’t know how Josie could forgive that jerky move. But the author made it obvious that Beck was truly sorry and he didn’t want to lose Josie. He didn’t give up on trying to show her he was sorry, and that helped.
I love the friendship that develops between Frankie and Josie. I think Frankie needs a girlfriend, someone to help her heal and move forward, and to just feel like a normal teenage girl with.
Besides the main point of the story, can I just say, I knew Cami was evil, but the end of the story?! Wow, plot twist! And I cannot wait for Frankie and (fingers crossed) maybe Ollie’s story?! And of course Carson and Allie, although Carson really irritated me in this one!!
Loved the book, definitely cannot wait for more Clermont Bay!!
