Booked on a Feeling by Jayci Lee

This one just wasn't for me.

I liked Lizzy and Jack, they were entertaining to read. A lot of the quotes at the beginning had me amused. The fact Lizzy is a reader, and likes hanging out inside bookstores as a reprieve from her life as a lawyer. How even at 30, someone like Jack, this great guy with a family business, has no idea what he's going to do next in life.

But besides those things, there was no real big stakes as to why they couldn't be together beyond the fear of losing a 20 year friendship. There's no real pull to want to see them together besides that they've liked each other for their entire friendship and they know each other well. And when it comes to romance, I've noticed I need something more to invest myself into with friends to lovers.

This is not entirely a light read, there is a bit of talk of strained parent and child relationships, the pressure to have a well-paying job and the American Dream Experience, anxiety, insecurity. But if you are looking for a light read with little to no-stakes, that is friends to lovers, and these don't bother you, this is a good recommendation.
