This is more of a modern writing style of poetry, reminiscent of Rupi Kaur and Amanda Lovelace with miniscule letters and little punctuation. I actually love a bit of modern poetry, but sometimes I think it falls a bit short. There is little-to-no space for inference or analysis and it sometimes feels like the poet just slapped down and printed the first thing that came from their pen.

One thing that is a foundation for poetry is the layout and how the poem presents on the page. A lot of people limit this specifically to the line break (although that is definitely a powerful poetic tool) but they forget the stanzas, orientation, etc. Some of the layouts and alignments seemed lacking in substance and felt like a way to create intrigue and interest with a visual alteration.

This was very... Meh, to be completely honest. Don't get me wrong, there are some nicely crafted lines and a couple things to note or highlight, but overall it didn't wow me. I found myself not liking many complete poems and only a couple lines of about half of the poems in this collection. I'm unsure if this is a collection I would return to like I would some of my others.
