You know when you finish reading a book you are on an natural high?
Yep I’m still feeling that way about ACOTAR. That book was so delicious!!
Although Feyre and Tamlin are my otp, I do understand why people do ship her and Rhys together. If it wasn’t for him helping her out ( even tho it was kind of unethical) in the second half of the book with the tasks she wouldn’t survive for that long. I love Tam but he was pretty much radio silence and kind of useless in the second half in the book. It was kind of understandable when you have a powerful evil queen that have you and your people on under a powerful spell for almost 50 years. Since you decide to pissed her off with a underhanded comment about her sister who fell in love with a human who pretty much destroyed her. Who is very pissed off at the fact that you fell in love with a human although she was thirsting after him for centuries! Although you pretty much lied to that human for the whole time she was there since you pretty much sent your people as pigs for slaughterer to save his people and hoping this human will fall in love with you. Which she did and went through hell an back to save you and your people from the evil Queen. Which is determine to break you into pieces by breaking her into pieces by each task.Yeah Tam did some problematic things ( along with Rhys which also had his reasons as to why he did certain things) but I still love him to pieces. It’s ok to love problematic characters if you understand why they are and don’t make excuse for it. Like the whole fire night thing. That was pretty hot because he what he said to her BUT he did assaulted her. Yeah he wasn’t in his right mind and he told her to lock her door but he never told her why.He should have told her what Fire Night consist of so she would have understand. Although she did slap him and he apologized to her which it kind of become a running gag between those two. I hope we see it more in book two. ( Luicen was about to lose his lunch after the summer party. HAHA!)
Aramantha was vicious as hell and was a very good villain until she backed away from Feyre’s body and say please. I really want to know what context she said please tho. Now if she was saying as “ Please do your worse. I don’t give a shit. I will go down swinging” then she goes down still being a bad ass villain who did every vicious thing in the book. If she saying in the context as she begging then it dumbs down her character to me. Here’s this chick who pretty much had the whole Fae world under her thumb for a long time since she was taking power of the seven courts and now she’s begging because one of them that she put through shit is about to rip her to pieces for killing the love his life? Naw. Uh huh. Nope. Evil queens don’t beg for mercy especially the fact when they have never shown any mercy in their actions in the first place.. So for me she said it in the context that she really don’t give a shit and still go down swinging. But damn SJM could have kept her alive for the next two books.. She really could have done more damage in the next two books but oh well.
One thing I want to see is more female characters. Yeah You had Feyre, her two sisters, Alis and Aramantha but compared to the fact that you have three male characters besides Feyre that are main main focus of the story,we need some more female characters. Maybe one of them be a Fae that teach her to read in either the Spring or Night courts. That they create a bond and help her understand her new body which she probably will have powers now.
All in All it was a really good book after you got past the first three chapters which I was stuck on for a little while. To me the most boring chapters was the chapters will dealing with her family. After I got past those three the book picks up and down let down until you get to the other chapters dealing with her family. Her family is importation of the plot but some reason those part of the book drags.
But yeah ACOTAR was amazing I can’t wait for the second book.
