i love reading once again i’ve been waiting for the last book in the series forevs and it was good ngl none of the books were able to top the first one but it was still good. the beginning was a little slow and frustrating for me which made me not like it as much but it grew on me over time as the main girl’s character is developed further as well as the main guy bc at the beginning they annoyed me sm. but based on the description the author gave with shit like hidden kisses and second chance romance it doesn’t really fit what i thought it was going to be bc i wouldn’t consider what they have second chance romance bc of how little time has past since they “broke up” if you even considered they were together and there was only like one time they had hidden kisses which was at the very beginning idk that little trope thing the author listed out just was inaccurate to me but the summary itself was pretty accurate. it’s the main girl going through these three challenges to take on the thief king crown but she’s bound w magic to not share this w anyone which leads her to her sitch of not being able to fully communicate w the main guy which led to him getting engaged to this other woman to achieve his dream well his parents’ dreams for him and there’s a bunch of conflict that follows. the challenge scenes were pretty short i was expecting them to be a few chapters and to take up chunk of the book but they were only like a chapter or two which i’m not complaining about but yk that’s something i noted. also i love that the other woman character is actually so sweet and has sm character to her there was good development w her from starting out as this boisterous loud character that is looked down upon w her actions but then it’s seen how she got mommy and daddy issues but sm more to her that she shows and her and the main guy sharing ownership of his parent’s club was a serve i love that character sm she was the main humor source fr. this book wasn’t as funny as the previous ones but it’s bc the main girl isn’t as outspoken as her sisters which makes sense as she is the older sister who leads them and sets the example so she didn’t get that freedom they have. i sympathize w her character and everything and feel for her having all this pressure to do everything being the oldest but it does frustrate me when she makes choices without confining to anyone else like how she told the main guy no to his proposal despite being in love w him bc she didn’t wanna get in the way of his dreams but also he knows her too well to mention the other girl’s proposition bc she will always step down and sacrifice her happiness for her loved ones. nah bc the contrast between the other girl and main girl was good bc the other girl the main girl envies w how free she is and her lack of care towards others’ view on her and the main girl has always been searching for control well more pressured to have control over everything which is why she goes after the crown as she can finally make her own choices and not have to do what is told of her which is so real. but why everyone got mommy and daddy issues in this book yikes and imma hate on the main guy for a sec bc not this man tryna convince the main girl to be his mistress when he said before that he knew she would never do that and wouldn’t want to put her in that sitch man moment fr. but they do have their cute moments despite them mostly arguing in this book which i do get both sides bc main guy has been in love w her for years and constantly pursues her and wants them to no longer be a secret but main girl feels supes pressured and is scared of not being enough which she reveals only now when she’s in this tough sitch i wish she was able to communicate better but hey part of her development. anyways their cute moments were how their magic calls to each other i love the little voice magic has for both character it’s sorta like a subconscious kind of voice and they both want to be near the other it’s so cute i love that aspect. i really do enjoy all the relationship in this book tho bc it doesn’t just focus on the romantic relationship but the platonic ones like the main guy and his fiancé being besties and then the main girl w her sisters and her dad it’s really wholesome to see some healthy relationships besides the romantic one as we see the characters have grown in all their relationships and improving themselves. the loyalty the sisters have for each other is a consistent thing throughout this series that i love like they would go through a storm for each other it’s so sweet. i wish there was more appearances w the partners of the sisters bc i love reading about them and i miss their book fr but whatevs. yeah good book i’m giving it a 8.5/10 i’ll miss this series for sure and hope the author writes more shit similar to these kinda series i love a good fantasy it’s been awhile since i read one.
