The Recovery Agent by Janet Evanovich

It read a lot like the Stephanie Plum series - parents and grandma live together, daughter checks in with family regularly, hot boyfriend. That's where the similarities try to end. Gabriela is a fearless "recovery agent" who finds lost things. These can be priceless artifacts or people. She's a fighter, doesn't run away from trouble, and is more likely to fight someone trying to abduct her than run and scream (like Stephanie). Oh, and she knows her way around guns and isn't afraid to use them.

This is a more suped-up version of the Stephanie Plum novels. But we won't have to keep up with the numbers this time.

All-in-all, I enjoyed it as a palate cleanser from the heavy reading I've been doing lately. I'll check out the next one to see if the stories get better.
