This book. The angst. The brooding. The sex. I knew from the cliffhanger at the end of book one that I had to scoop this up, and it did not disappoint. I suspect that some may dislike the fact
that there is no real villain, and the revenge plot just sort of disappears.
I did feel that it ended in a rush and a somewhat too saccharine way.
Who cares whether Angelique's family took her back, conveniently after marrying a viscount? She seemed better off with her found family.

I was also left with unanswered questions about Lord Bolt. He supposedly "died" a decade earlier, with no heir, and yet his lands mysteriously just... sat there, unmanaged, rather than escheating to the crown? Even a throwaway line about how Lucian's attorney was working to restore his lands and privileges would have addressed this issue. Minor critiques in an otherwise lovely book about two flawed people transformed by an unexpected romance.
