Tart of Darkness by Denise Swanson

1.0

Maybe it's because I too am a 29 year old named Dani but I found the main character to sound and behave like a woman at least 20 years older. The college aged characters were also poorly characterized, sounding more like a disconnected adults understanding of "kids these days" than actual people. The changing perspective did not add anything to the narrative that could not have been done another way and I found it more a distraction than anything else. Add to that the lack of recipes, dropped plot threads that are probably meant to be addressed in subsequent books and an anticlimax made for an all around unpleasant experience.
