First and foremost I got this book through a blind book box and I don't think I would have come across it otherwise.
My main complaint, as many others, is the language used by Oyeyemi in Gingerbread. It was difficult to follow even the most basic events and timeline and uses most of my energy that there wasn't any left to explore the themes and deeper meanings in the text.
