‘The Patient’ is a fun and fast read. It will keep you engaged, hooked and turning pages. There are some fun twists and turns but it’s not the most brilliant or clever piece of horror fiction. A little like junk food for the brain. There are some dark themes (TW for sexual violence, suicide and mental health issues). The characters aren’t terribly deep, but there are moments of depth and emotionality. Its 2.5 stars for me.
