i really really really loved this book, its one of my favourites and every time i put it down i just wanted to pick it back up again. The story was so good and really well written. It had a little bit of a slow start but once it got going, i couldnt put it down. Honestly, the only reason im not giving it 5 stars is because i hear it gets even better.

im just a little bit annoyed at Cardan and Judes kiss? Like i dont really understand how or why that happened. It was cute to read i guess - but then they didnt mention it to eachother again.

Tbh the romance is kind of a sub plot and is definitely not the main focus of the first book but idrm, i underatand why some people may be a bit disappointed though if they only came to read it for the romance. But for me I feel like Holly Black distrabuted the romance and the political parts of the book very well.
