This type of book (toxic mafia romance with a damaged, submissive woman) really is not for me, but I did enjoy it enough to finish it, more out of curiosity than anything else. I have not read a mafia romance before and this one was included in my audible membership. It was a similar experience to watching The Sopranos. Two very broken people with all the red flags, toxic behaviors, and an unhealthy power dynamic. They are desperate to be loved. One scene was too much like rape and I almost stopped listening.
I do not recommend for the content 1/5, but the writing was around 3/5, so tolerable. The sex scenes are not vanilla, but also, not for me. If you like a really possessive and unhinged mafia alpha with a damaged, submissive, naive, virgin then you might like this.
